Fort William bag the treble at the Highland League awards

Fort William tasted a delicious treble at the Scottish Fitba Base Highland League awards today as goalie Robin Harvey was crowned the goalkeeper of the year, the club picked up the team of season and manager Calum Maclean grabbed the manager of the year for the club’s successful season.

After hearing the news that he had won the award from me, Robin Harvey said: “I’m very pleased to win the award and it is satisfying to see my hard work paid off and everything I have put into this season has been noticed over the highland league.

The goalkeeper beat the likes of Brora Rangers stopper Joe Malin who was last year’s winner, Daniel Bell of Keith and Forres‘s Mark Bowden to grab the award.

“Just to be nominated for the award was a personal achievement. I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me I’m happy to have such a big support behind me. I’d also like to thank everyone at Fort William FC for giving me the opportunity I have and putting hard work into making me a better player and just having the confidence in me to play at this level at my age. Appreciate all the support I have received for winning this award.”

While Fraserburgh‘s Scott Barbour picked up the young player of the year, Brora’s Steven Mackay got the player of the year and Brora grabbed the supporters of the season award.
