Hat trick hero Keith insists that it was crucial to get the win over Fort

Formartine United’s hat trick hero Cammy Keith insisted that it was crucial to get a win and recover from Wednesday night’s exit in the Aberdeenshire Shield semi final to Cove Rangers by winning 6-1 over Fort William.

“On Wednesday another big game that we are faltered in along with the Scottish cup the one with Cove. But if it means we beat them once this season in league and win the league then none’s going to remember those. “It was important to bounce back today with a win. Underfoot and overhead conditions didn’t help at all. In the first half it was just ridiculous.Second half our quality told and keeps us on track for another big game next week.”

Keith was delighted to get on the scoresheet due to him being out of the team the last couple of weeks. He also praised Stuart Anderson for his well taken first goal.

“Anderson was a great volley and that was the wind against him as well. That was so hit. It was nice to get back on the scoresheet and have been out the team the last few weeks. It’s good to get back in and get a few goals. Hopefully get myself back up and running.”

Formartine play Brora Rangers next weekend in Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup which looks to be a cracking tie.Keith feels the League Cup is the big one with his side out of the Aberdeenshire Shield and the Aberdeenshire Cup.

“Yeah it’s the big one and obviously we don’t want to be out of any cup but we are out of the shield and the Aberdeenshire Cup now. The Highland League Cup is the big one at this level. I won it a couple of times with Keith and it would be nice to get a third. Now we know it’s business time and can’t afford anymore slip ups in the league and certainly not in the cup as well. “We are now at the stage that we can make this a season to remember. Hopefully with trophies.

Formartine also got their 100th goal this season and Keith insists that his team has scorers all over the pitch.

“The goals have certainly share around the team. Lots of firepower and it’s really rarely that we don’t score in a game. We are confident going into the Brora game.”
